The Geodesic Dome
If you haven't already figured out, the campus will be comprised of 7 Geodesic Domes, connected by bridges with each dome offering a different educational experience. Buckminister Fuller, who was a chief proponent in the geosdesic domes' popularity, had a vision of a world population that utilized renewable energy, self-sustainability, and minimalistic living. He thought his mission in life was to help humanity find a better way even if he was a singular man on a daunting mission. Well he succeeded. We are close to finding the perfect location for building the campus. Kalapana Hawaii, on the Big Island, offers opportunities to explore various realms of science including, but not limited to Geology (volcano, lava land creation), Astronomy, and Marine Biology. Also with sunny days being an almost constant, and an abundance of free flowing wind, it is the ideal environment to maintain a self-sustainable learning center. Welcome to the Contemporary Education Complex of Kalapana
The Contemporary Education Complex will offer an up to date learning experience that will not only fulfill but exceed the national standard for educating youth, and also bring up to speed the adults that seek to further their education.
We believe knowledge should be free, so there will be no tuition, no fees, just a desire to learn, and it is our hope that this school can serve as a model and example of a way to effectively teach without the constraints of budget. All students will be taught by mix of Neotrivium, and V-Rote, alleviating some of the stress most teachers deal with when trying to accommodate all student's levels of comprehension and learning capabilities. We will be a non-profit, experimental, micro-school, with a campus no larger than ten students, allowing more individualized focus to be placed on each participant in an attempt to maximize their full learning potential.
Self-sustainability will be a major focus, being not only taught, but practiced within the campus on every level from solar and wind power to rain catchment, and horticulture.
